It's official, Paris Hilton and her rocker boyfriend Benji Madden are no longer together, her publicist Alanna McCarthy said Wednesday, November 12, adding that the former lovers still remain "very good friends." Alanna didn't elaborate further on the pair's split and Paris herself kept her lips tightly sealed when photographers asked her about the topic.
People began questioning Paris and Benji's relationship after the hotel heiress was snapped partying together with her ex-boyfriend, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, in Miami, Florida over the weekend. Pictures of them whispering into each other's ear have been all over the net. But, a source close to the celebrity socialite claimed they simply acted friendly and nothing more. "In no way are they romantic, nor do they want to get back together," the source insisted.
Alanna's confirmation on Paris and Benji's separation came shortly after one of the contestants on "Paris Hilton's My New BFF", named Vanessa Fontana, told Life & Style, "Paris and Benji have split. I love Paris, and I just want her to be happy. I think that they'll be better as friends." She added, "No, nobody else is involved. Paris and Benji were loyal and faithful to each other. I was with Paris in Miami, and Stavros came over to our table, and the two of them talked for literally two minutes. It was a friendly conversation. They definitely did not hook up."
Paris and Benji began dating in February this year. They seemed inseparable as they were frequently seen together at many occasions. Details still remain sketchy on when exactly they called it quit and the reason why.
Following their break-up, Paris Hilton and Benji Madden have been seen partying separately in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, November 18. While Paris danced on top of a couch at Apple Lounge, Benji was seen at hotspot Coco de Ville with Nicole Richie, who dates his twin brother Joel Madden.
