Airdate of the New Season of 'Lost' Set

ABC has announced the airdate for 'Lost' fifth season with a surprise of three hours full premiere.

"Lost" is ready for its upcoming new season. ABC has confirmed exclusively that the serial drama series which revolves around the lives of a plane crash's survivors on a tropical mysterious island, will be premiered for its fifth season on Wednesday, January 21 at 8/7c.

Furthermore, the network has stated that the premiere of "Lost" will be set up for a full three-hours. The first two episodes entitled "Because You Left" and "The Lie" will be aired back-to-back at the same time, following a recap of the first four seasons.

Then, the Emmy award winning series will get its regular schedule on every Wednesday nights at 9/8c. The following episodes after the premiere from three to six are entitled "Jughead," "The Little Prince," "The Place Is Death" and "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham." There is a hint about the series' new season that it will come up with a new twist on the flashbacks and flashforward narrative device.

In addition, completing the surprise of "Lost" three hours premiere, it has been reported that "24" star Reiko Aylesworth is in a negotiation for her major recurring role on "Lost" for four episodes. She will play as Amy, a smart and successful professional woman with a love for the outdoors who is looking for the right man.

"Lost" new season's timeslot has an impact for other ABC's series like "Private Practice" and "Pushing Daisies" to be shifted to another schedule. The network will announce both series' new airdates next week.
