Avril Lavigne and her rocker husband Deryck Whibley were seen stepping out for dinner in Los Angeles on Monday, October 13 amid rumors claiming their marriage is on the rocks. Their public union has thus put to rest the false speculation that they are on the verge of splitting, a report which was first brought to public's notice by The National Enquirer.
Avril herself has issued a denial on split rumors, telling In Touch Weekly her marriage to Sum 41 lead vocalist Deryck is just fine. "We're best friends. We have so much in common and get along all of the time. He makes me happy," the publication quoted her as saying. Strengthening her denial, Deryck's friends insisted he even joined his singer wife on tour for two months long, adding, "He performed on stage with her every night and they sang her hit song 'In Too Deep' for an encore together."
Getting back into the U.S. following a tour to Asia, Avril and Deryck have been spotted "hanging out together" and "recording songs in their home studio." Avril furthermore testified she and Deryck "have fun together" despite the flying rumors.
As for Deryck, instead of slamming The National Enquirer's report he tends to question the credibility of it, saying "I'm actually very surprised that so many media outlets picked this story up. Since when did the National Enquirer become a trust worthy news source?"
In a post on Sum 41's MySpace blog, dated Tuesday, October 14, Deryck's management firm, Nettwerk Music Group, wrote, "On October 20th the National Enquirer issued a gossip story surrounding Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 and his wife Avril Lavigne. For the record we strongly deny the inference of martial problems between Avril and Deryck. We also strongly deny the National Enquirer claims of any other liaisons. Deryck has in fact been traveling through Asia performing with Avril as evidenced by the numerous Youtube videos."
