2008 BET Hip Hop Awards Nominations Announced

Lil Wayne scores 12 big nominations at this year's BET Hip Hop Awards, including Lyricist of the Year.

This year, the nominee list at BET Hip Hop Awards is dominated by Lil Wayne as he grabs 12 nominations, including Best Live Performer. Besides that, the rapper is also listed in Video of the Year, thanks to his Gil Green-directed "Lollipop" music video.

Another artist who dominates the awards nomination is Kanye West. This year, he scores seven nominations, one of which is to compete with Lil Wayne, Nas, Jay-Z, and T.I. in Lyricist of the Year. Other nominees include Busta Rhymes, Flo Rida, T.I., and more.

Hosted by comedian Katt Williams, the third annual show will take place in Atlanta on October 18 and it will be aired on October 23 through BET. Unfortunately, performers for the event haven't been announced yet.
