In the meantime, fans will be seeing more of Jennie Garth as Kelly in the spin-off series of the popular '90s teenage drama series 'Beverly Hills, 90210'.

AceShowbiz - Though signing to come back as her widely known character, Brenda Walsh, in "90210", Shannen Doherty may not be staying long with the new TV show. EW's The Ausiello Files managed to dig up that the 37-year-old actress has reportedly refused to prolong her character's appearance, revealing that she is involved in another project.

"They asked me to do a lot more," she explained, but "I'm in the middle of pitching a show, [so] I couldn't commit to more than [I did]." Doherty has earlier signed on to star in the first four episodes of the "Beverly Hills, 90210" spin-off alongside her on-screen rival, Jennie Garth, who reprises her role as Kelly Taylor.

Contrary to Doherty's decision, Garth has been reported to be reaching an agreement with CW to guest star in five more episodes. With the new deal, the television star will be seen as Kelly, who now works as West Beverly High School's guidance counselor, in the series for the total of 11 episodes.

Premiered on CW on September 2, teen drama "90210" has become the network's highest-rated scripted debut in history with 5.02 million viewers staying tune on the first episode of the series. Bringing fresh blood to the Rob Thomas-created TV show, it stars Shenae Grimes, Tristan Wilds, Jessica Stroup, AnnaLynne McCord, Dustin Milligan, Michael Steger and Ryan Eggold among others.
