Pete Wentz teams up with Russell Brand for a brand new commercial tape to promote this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

AceShowbiz - Fall Out Boy's basist Pete Wentz has just been shot with British comedian Russell Brand. The 40-seconds video will be promoting 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, which will be aired from Hollywood Paramount Studio on September 7.

Beside Pete, other stars, who are taped for the MTV awards promos, are Britney Spears and LL Cool J. While Britney appears on two promo ads with an elephant as a featured guest to remind people for her last year's disastrous performance in the show, LL Cool J simply sits next to the comedian for a conversation in another video.

Artists who are confirmed to perform at the MTV annual show are multi-platinum songstress Rihanna, Pink, rapper T.I., and Tennessean band Paramore. Meanwhile, some star names, who have just been announced to appear on the event's stage as additional presenters, include Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus.

Elsewhere, Russell, who will be hosting the awards show, is reportedly busy with his work on a new role for his upcoming big screen "Get Him to the Greek". In the forthcoming comedy, Russell has been cast to reprise his "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" role as Aldous Snow, a rock star who is struggling to stay sober. Speaking of his new role, he says, "The opportunity to revisit it (drugs) without the consequences is exciting. I might even find a way of justifying using actual drugs. It's like, Well, this is acting. Come on'."
