Sean Bean was arrested for domestic assault, reports claimed. The "Lord of the Rings" actor reportedly was arrested at his home in Camden, North London, Thursday night, July 24 after a quarrel with his wife of five months, Georgina Sutcliffe.
According to the Daily Mail, Sutcliffe allegedly called police telling them she was being attacked by Bean following a heated argument. Despite his denial, insisted it was simply a domestic row that had got out of hand, Bean was detained to the nearest police station in Holborn. Being kept in custody for about 6 hours, he was released on bail at about 6 A.M. on Friday morning, July 25 after Sutcliffe dropped her allegations against him.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed Bean's arrest, adding that no further action would be taken. To the press Sutcliffe revealed, "Everything is ok. Sean and I are at home together enjoying the sunshine. He was arrested. Everything was blown out of proportion. The police held him quite a while but Sean is fine and I am fine. There is not problem between us." Bean himself reiterated his wife's comments, claiming he's "fine."
Despite his arrest, it seems everything is okay with them. The media abuzz about the incident apparently doesn't affect the husband-and-wife's relationship as they were photographed laughing and kissing outside their North London home on Saturday, July 26.
