Black Eyed Peas' Fergie Adds Up to the Star-Studded Cast of 'Nine'

The 'Fergalicious' songstress has been signed to star alongside Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman and others in Rob Marshall's latest broadway adaptation 'Nine'.

AceShowbiz - The singing crew of Rob Marshall's drama musical "Nine" has grown even bigger. After actress Kate Hudson was announced joining the cast ensemble few days back, successful R 'n' B singer Fergie whose real name is Stacy Ferguson is now reported to be following Hudson's footstep as well.

Though what character she will be portraying in the Broadway musical adaptation still remains unknown, the only female singer in Black Eyed Peas is said to be getting her first significant leading role. By nailing the role, she will be joining also Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench and Sophia Loren.

Famed for her musical talent doesn't mean that the "Big Girls Don't Cry" songstress is clueless about acting. In fact, Fergie has started her career in the entertainment industry by performing in television program Kids Incorporated. She also had minor role in 2006 action adventure "Poseidon" as well as 2007 anthology movie "Grindhouse".

From the man who brought "Moulin Rouge" to the big screen comes another Broadway adaptation entitled "Nine". It tells the life story of Italian filmmaker Guido Contini who has to juggle all the women in his life from his mother to his mistress. This feature film for The Weinstein Company is scheduled to begin filming in October in London. The leading man role is attached to Academy Award-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis, while the movie itself is slated for 2009 release.
