Fake Greek and Oceanic Blue Carpet Marked 'Mamma Mia!' World Premiere

The upcoming comedy musical 'Mamma Mia!' has celebrated its world premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square, London on Monday, June 30, with a very memorable decoration.

AceShowbiz - On Monday, June 30, one particular landmark in London, the Leicester Square, has been invaded by Greek for one very special occasion, the world premiere of the upcoming comedy musical "Mamma Mia!". The venue has been decorated with blue carpet completed with lemon trees decoration, fake fruits and a Greek church to resemble the Greek island, the set where the film has been shot.

With the unique setting, the special screening event was topped with the attendance of many Hollywood stars. Among those big names strolling down the specially-designed carpet leading to the Odeon Leicester Square were the flick's cast ensemble, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski and Dominic Cooper, as well as the executive producers, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and ABBA's own Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.

All of the Hollywood stars grazed the blue carpet accompanied with ABBA's hit song from the stage musical the film is based on. Additionally, in lights of the '70s, the ladies were dressed in bold color of choices. "Mamma Mia!" star Streep wore a pillar box red dress, while her co-star Seyfried was wrapped up in emerald green dress.

Telling the story of a young woman's quest in searching for her biological father, "Mamma Mia" has been described to be "a celebration of a mother, a daughter and three possible fathers". The feature film resolves around Donna, a single and independent small hotel owner in Greece, and Sophie, Donna's daughter who is about to get married. Preparing for her wedding, Sophie invited three secret guests from her mother's past to find out who of the three is her real father before she embarks on a new life. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd, the movie is coming out on July 18.
