More good news arrive for the English rockers as their album and first single are being tapped to top the U.S. charts.

AceShowbiz - English band Coldplay are set to continue their new album success from U.K. to the U.S. as Billboard reported that "Viva la Vida"'s first day sale has already reached 316,000 copies. Moreover, a source told Billboard.com that the rockers new set's sale might get around 700,000 to 750, 000 on its first week.

Although it won't beat Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" numbers, Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" seems set to top the Billboard Albums chart next week. If that happens it will reprise the success it had in U.K. as the new record has already been topping the albums chart there.

Before their album take the lead at the Billboard 200, Coldplay will first celebrate the success of the Album's second single "Viva la Vida" as it is being tapped to top the singles chart tomorrow (Friday, June 20). According to Billboard the song is still being downloaded by many people as this past weekend it has been grabbed about 246,000 times.

In other news, the band have recently announced that Santogold will be the opening act on most of their tour dates in the U.S. The female singer/producer reportedly will be joining the band in 7 venues starting at the IL United Center, Chicago on July 23.
