The rapper's new LP managed to live up to its expectation as it has been sold over 1 million copies on its first week.

AceShowbiz - Just as it was predicted, Lil Wayne's highly anticipated album has managed to break the 1 million mark for its first week sale. According to Nielsen SoundScan "Tha Carter III", dropped on June 10, has been sold over 1 million copies.

This achievement is not only setting Wayne's new set to become the biggest selling record this year, but also beating Kanye West's "Graduation", outed in 2007, that only reached 957, 000 sale on its first week. The last record that managed to hit the milestone on its early release is 50 Cent's 2005 set, "The Massacre".

Commenting on the new LP's astonishing achievement, earlier Wayne told the press, "Thank you, that's it. Just very grateful, that's it. Blown away, of course. Surprised, of course. Elated. Every positive word there is. I wasn't trippin' about this. I didn't have no expectations."

On top of his album's sale success, Wayne also prepares to further promote his new LP by going on tour. The rapper confirmed his tour plans to MTV stating that it will start on June 27. Explaining what would his tour be like, he said, "I just want people to leave the show and feel like they saw something that they gonna remember forever."

In other news, after the success of his album, the rapper also prepares another music project by hinting out a plan to form a group with T-Pain. Wayne revealed that plan to MTV saying, "We both have the same energy, I don't sleep. If you ask anybody, I don't sleep. I think it's the cousin of death. As much as you sleep, you're impersonating death to me. He don't sleep. I play all day. He plays all day and all night. The connection is crazy. He loves to be creative, he loves to work; I love to create, I love to work. He really wants people to respect his rapping; I really want people to respect my harmonizing."
