Addressing Captain America's Cameo in 'Incredible Hulk'

Though director Louis Leterrier earlier insisted that Captain America is indeed making a cameo appearance in the upcoming 'The Incredible Hulk', he finally fessed up that the scene has been cut off.

Few days earlier, director Louis Leterrier hinted that moviegoers who will go to see the much awaited superhero flick "The Incredible Hulk" may get a treat by possibly seeing Captain America himself in the movie. However, those who get the chance to watch "Hulk" early screening claimed that the beloved hero is nowhere to be seen. Hence, question whether Leterrier spoke of the truth is raised.

In his defense, the sole director of "The Transporter 2" told Collider that Captain America is most definitely making a cameo appearance in the Universal Pictures's action fantasy film starring Edward Norton and Liv Tyler. Still, at the time, he refused to specify when and where exactly the superhero will be seen. "It's an Easter egg," insisted the French director. "It's not like oh, it's Captain America and it changes everything. It's still a Hulk movie, but it's really Captain America and it's there, you'll see. It's the real deal. You have to look for it."

But, then as people once again get excited to seek for one of the Marvel's superheroes, it is unearthed that the particular scene containing Steve Rogers' alter ego has been cut off from the finished movie and is most likely to be available on the film's DVD. The hard-hitting fact was revealed by Leterrier himself in an exclusive interview with SOS Hollywood stating that it has to be chopped out because the scene is too "dark and strong" for younger audience.

"There's a point when Bruce Banner gives up on his quest for the cure and decide to kill himself. So he travels far North and reaches the Arctic Circle. You might have seen bits of it in some of the promos. The result was a very dark and strong scene, which Marvel, me and everyone else's considered to be too hard to young audiences to take, so we've cut it," explained Leterrier. "Having that said, when Bruce arrives at his destination he meets up with Captain America! At some point this week, we will make it available on the internet - but I cannot tell you where or when - and the material will definitely be on the DVD."

"Incredible Hulk" is coming closer and closer to its theatrical release set for this Friday, June 13. Though Captain America's part is left off, the movie following the adventure of Bruce Banner in avoiding military capture and finding cure to the beast inside him will surely showcase a special performance from Tony Stark of "Iron Man". Meanwhile, Captain America himself will be seen grazing the silver screen on May 6, 2011 through "The First Avenger: Captain America".
