The Senegal born rapper is getting involved in a new collaboration as he has been tapped by the renown composer to do new music projects and also launch a social website.
A new and interesting collaboration is being done by Akon as he is being tapped by famous composer and philanthropist Peter Buffet to do some projects together. The pair announced on June 11, that they are starting a collaboration in music and also social activities by launching a new social action and resource website called IsThereSomethingICanDo.com.
Meanwhile, their music project have also started by the release of a remix song titled "Anything". The single was actually Peter's track from his 2007 album "Staring At The Sun" but it is being retouched by adding some vocals from Akon on it. This remix song has also been made available for download at the social website.
The collaboration idea on "Anyhing" comes to the table after Akon saw the video Peter made for the original song, which was created after the composer did a charity visit to Liberia and Sierra Leone. Confirming that fact, Peter said, "This song serves as a global call to action. After my trip to West Africa I knew I had to express what I saw the best way I know how - through music- and to have Akon hear my call was an honor and a surprise to both of us."
Moreover, explaining more details about the collaboration, Akon added, "I didn't know who Peter was when we met, and he didn't know anything about me. That's the thing that makes our work together genuine: It's based simply on our desire to encourage people to do something."
Their work on "Anything", won't be the only musical project for them as both musicians insure that it will be the start of many. For the next stop, after making the remix song, the Senegal born rapper is set to record a new track with the composer titled "Can We Love" which will be included on Peter's upcoming album "Imaginary Kingdom", set to be outed on September 9.
