Just before its official release date, the English band's new LP has been tapped to be the most successful record this year.

AceShowbiz - More great news come for English rock band Coldplay, as the latest report suggested that their upcoming record "Viva la Vida" could become the biggest selling album this year. According to Play.com the band's new LP, which is set to due on June 17, has been pre-ordered more than any other artists' albums on the website's list.

Play.com also claimed that the average of "Viva la Vida"'s pre-order is one in every minute and it is set to beat earlier sales record which was held by Leona Lewis with her "Spirit". Confirming the news, the site's head of music, Helen Marquis, said, "We have not seen an album pre-order to quite these levels before. The previous record holder was Leona Lewis."

Moreover Helen also said that, "People talk about the death of the music industry, but this proves that the right title can still break records. The new album should be the biggest of the year, but with upcoming new albums from the likes of Dido, Amy Winehouse, Take That and Oasis, this is going to be a phenomenal year for British music."

In other news, previously the rockers reportedly are already making preparation to shoot their new music video and has chosen a beach in Holland as its location. Not only that, the band reportedly will tap renown director Anton Corbijn, who has already worked with them on their clip for "Talk".
