Riding on his win on American Idol, David Cook is being highlighted this week in order for fans to get to know him deeper as a person.

AceShowbiz - Nothing may taste better than when you have a legion of people celebrating your achievement in something that you really like. David Cook has just experienced such occurrence after he stole the crown on American Idol's seventh cycle. Not only did the Missouri native take the joy alone, the rocker already has a large base of fans even before he releases an album.
On Wednesday, May 21, 2008, Cook was declared a winner of popular singing competition, American Idol, that absorbed as many as 97.5 million votes from phone lines and text. His win over other contestant David Archuleta was particularly almost a knock out for the percentage was between 56 to 44 with 12 million being the difference. Cook who wept after announced as the winner, then resumed his victory by singing the winner number "The Time of My Life" that quickly proved his fans' existence.
"The Time of My Life", along with the four tunes that he sang during the finale, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "Dream Big" and "The World I Know", are all in the top four positions of the iTunes chart. "Time of My Life" consequently was made the first single off his upcoming record which he has had in mind as a "rock album".
Already Cook distincts himself from the crowd by saying that he will take his time in making the record and not just follow the label demand that requires him to put out an album quickly. "Even if it doesn't do well commercially, as long as I can put out a record I am proud of - that's the goal right now," Cook said. Lining up behind him ready to support are Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and Jesse McCartney, the two people who successfully penned Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love". McCartney shared his thought, saying "Ryan and I are planning to write some songs with him for his album."
The rocker has arguably inspired many Americans through his music and for the achievement and the charisma that he's oozing, Cook is chosen as AceShowbiz's Artist of the Week for the week 22. Together with the top 10 contestants of the seventh season, Cook will embark on a national tour starting July 1 in Glendale, AZ.
