The two U.S. super rock bands are preparing to appear at a tribute show for the legendary English rockers.

AceShowbiz - Rock music fans are preparing to get a special treat from VH1.com, as on their upcoming annual show "Rock Honors" the music channel will tap Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and The Flaming Lips to perform at the show. Those bands will give a tribute to The Who, which have been chosen as the artist to be honored for this year's edition of the show.

Beside being a tribute show for The Who, the upcoming event is also being set as a charity event. The benefit that comes from the concert will be given to support the likes of The Teenage Cancer Trust, the Double O Charity, VH1 Save The Music Foundation and select VH1 Classic Rock Autism organizations.

The event, which will be its third annual, planned to be staged at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles on July 12. The show will be taped by VH1 and it is set to get aired at the music channel on July 17. Meanwhile, the tickets for the show will be available from June 6 for The Who's fans club member and it will be sold to public two days after it on June 8.

Pearl Jam themselves are currently busy working on their upcoming ninth studio album. For the new LP, the rockers will be working with their long time friend and renown music producer Brendan O'Brien.
