'Iron Man' Scribblers Signed for 'Highlander' Remake

Words are circulating that the iconic 1986's thriller 'Highlander' will be redone and Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the writers of 'Iron Man' have been tapped to develop the script.

The 1986's thriller fantasy film "Highlander" will be brought back into the silver screen. Latest reports on the matter stated that Summit Entertainment have obtained the screening rights to the film made famous by actor Christopher Lambert and to add on the excitement, the remake film has signed "Iron Man" screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.

The two scribblers will be working on developing the new material about the two conflicting Scottish clans and is expected to finish writing the script before the movie swing into production in 2009. It is said that though it is basically a redo, the story will bring more background story to the film as well as the romance plot.

The original "Highlander" is directed by Russell Mulcahy and follows the story of Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman who battles other immortals to gain mysterious force known as the Quickening. Though it didn't get well-reception from the U.S. market, the film won the heart of people outside the country. Since its release in March 1986, the tidbit has gotten four sequels and developed into a television series.
