World Premiere Canceled, 'Hancock' in Trouble

Latest report coming from the upcoming superhero film by Peter Berg hinted that the film is in jeopardy since the world premiere schedule for the film has been put off.

AceShowbiz - Bad news keeps on coming to Peter Berg's upcoming superhero movie "Hancock". After twice given the restricted rating by MPAA rating for its sexual and violent scenes, it is now said that the movie is in jeopardy of being able to be finished on the time for its theatrical debut on July 2.

The speculation of the trouble behind the latest Will Smith-starrer film sparked after Cinema Blend reported that the world premiere event of the action drama movie in Sydney, Australia which is scheduled sometime in June has been quietly put in the back burner. Allegedly, the canceling off of the premiere has something to do with the heavy re-shooting of the film since it is said to be eyeing the PG-13 rating at least.

The last minutes re-shooting is common in the movie industry. Smith's previous blockbuster movie "I Am Legend" has proved that the re-shoot won't hurt the film as it went on to collect an impressive $256.4 million in North American market only and $584 million worldwide. Still, the troublesome matter for "Hancock" has been outed by a source who claimed that the film may not be ready on time.

Promising to present a hero unlike any other before, "Hancock" tells the story of the powerful titular character who has been misjudged and misunderstood by the public for his unconventional approach in doing his works. Though he originally didn't care about what people think about him, his life is going to take another turn after he saves PR executive Ray Embrey. The Columbia Pictures' tidbit features also Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron.
