Ridley Scott, the man behind the acclaimed drama 'American Gangster', has joined in the crime drama project 'The Kind One' as both producer and director.
The acclaimed filmmaker Ridley Scott is going to get involved in a feature film project entitled "The Kind One". According to Variey, the director to Denzel Washington's action drama "American Gangster" has been picked up by Warner Bros. Picture to helm and produce the crime drama film.
Scott, who is known for his "Gladiator" work, will be bringing the Tom Epperson's adapted script to the big screen. He will also work with actor Casey Affleck as the brother of Ben Affleck has been tapped to star in the period drama. Commenting on the joining of the helmer, producer Jules Daly stated, "It's a world that Ridley has never touched before, so that's what drew him to the project."
"Kind One" is a film about a man who works with a sadistic mobster with the nickname of 'the Kind One' and unexpectedly falls in love with the girlfriend of the criminal. The film is set for 2010 release.
