Mariah Carey Performed 'Bye Bye' on American Idol

After serving as the mentor on American Idol, Mariah Carey was back to the show as a guest performer.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey who is the mentor and theme for this week's American Idol, performed her new single "Bye Bye" on the result show on April 16. On the section that was aired on FOX at 8:00 P.M. central, finalist Kristy Lee Cook was eliminated after surviving bottom three for several times.

Kristy tackled Carey's song "Forever" that appeared as the soundtrack to the star's film "Glitter", and gave Carey "goosebumps" during the rehearsal. Unfortunately, she failed to deliver the same sensation to the audience that she landed on the bottom three along with Brooke White and Syesha Mercado. Carey was not the only performer for alumni Elliott Yamin was also there to take the stage.

Meanwhile, Carey's album "E=MC²" that was released on Tuesday, April 15 reportedly experienced a huge sale on the first day and is set to take the #1 spot when the Wednesday building chart is finalized next week. The new CD will be signed by Carey herself for those who line up in front of Universal City Walk today (April 17) at 6:00 P.M.. The first 1000 people who had pre-ordered the CD are guaranteed a place in line.
