Miley Cyrus and Dad Set to Host 2008 CMT Awards

The teen star and dad Billy Ray Cyrus will also be performing at the awards event held in Nashville.

AceShowbiz - Teen star Miley Cyrus and her singer dad Billy Ray Cyrus are set to be the host of 2008 Country Music Television Music Awards on April 14 at Curb Event Center at Belmont University. They will also make a performance at the event that appreciates the work of country music videos.

"Miley and I are so excited to be hosting the CMT Music Awards," Billy Ray said. "We know it will be a fun-filled night with a lot of great music performances." The pair have pocketed a duet called "Ready, Set, Don't Go" but it is not confirmed by organizers what piece they will be playing at the Nashville event.

Other performers that have previously been announced include Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Toby Keith. More are waiting to be announced in the coming weeks.

The voting for its nominees is closed on March 6. Paisley dominates the first round of nominees with six counts including Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year.
