U2 in Dublin Studio With Brian Eno for New Album

U2 have reportedly hit the studio for the follow up to Grammy-winning 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb'.

U2 have begun working on their first studio album in four years. The rock band fronted by Bono are reported to be in a Dublin studio to begin on the follow-up to "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" (2004).

Producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois will once again give assistance in this album. "We're going to try and break new sonic ground and deliver a masterpiece," Lanois told Billboard.com. "The sleeves are rolled up. Bono is all charged up with a lyrical angle."

Some materials have been penned while they were on tour last year and the band have spent time working on them on three prior occasions in France and Morocco. Due to the enormous amount of materials, the project could possibly stretch to two CDs. "There's so much material," Lanois continued. "When you get Eno and I and those guys in the room, before lunch there's like eight things."

No date has been scheduled for its release.

On other news, the band's debut album "Boy" which was originally released in 1980 will be re-released on May 20.
