U.K.'s new act Natalia is set to launch her music career through a brand new single called "Pretty Like Me". The rock/soul singer will on February 25, release the debut single which is available for pre-order at HMV.
"Pretty Like Me" features mixes from Bimbo Jones who previously worked with Ciara and Usher. On her MySpace page, Natalia describes the song as "a reaction to the pressure forced on women to look a certain way and confronts how girls can be subject to bullying for not conforming to an ideal."
She was in fact a victim of bullying back in school days as the result of jealousy over her talent. The song has been utilized as promotion of campaign "Beat Bullying" in which she became the ambassador. The singer had shot the music video with Phil Griffin (Amy Winehouse, Basement Jaxx), showing a young person in struggle to claim an acceptance from the surrounding people.
Natalia's first album will be released in Spring, blending several music genres such as pop/rock, ballads to club banger. It was produced by renown producers such as Andy Marvel & Peter Zizzo (Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne), J Remy (Kelly Rowland) and Lil Eddie (LL Cool J, P. Diddy).
