Debra Messing has been signed to star as the wife of John Leguizamo's character in the upcoming drama comedy directed by Alfredo De Villa.
The star of television series "The Starter Wife" Debra Messing has joined Alfredo De Villa's drama comedy project "Humboldt Park". According to Variety, the 39-year-old Emmy- and SAG-winning actress has been signed to star as the wife of John Leguizamo's character.
She will also play alongside Freddy Rodriguez, Alfred Molina, Jay Hernandez, Mercedes Ruehl, Luis Guzman, Melonie Diaz and Vanessa Ferlito in the film that centers around the returning of three siblings to their parents' home for the holidays in Humboldt Park on Chicago's northwest side. The film itself is scheduled to start filming next week in Chicago.
Messing became known after portraying Grace Adler in television sitcom "Will & Grace" for which she also garnered Emmy and SAG awards. Her feature film's experiences include "A Walk in the Clouds", "Along Came Polly" and "The Wedding Date". Apart from starring as Molly Kagan in "The Starter Wife", she will next be seen in Diane English's drama comedy "The Women" with Eva Mendes and Meg Ryan.
