A heart-broken Michelle Williams released a statement to the media, addressing her feelings and how she will raise their 2-year-old daughter, Matilda.

AceShowbiz - For the first time since Heath Ledger's death on January 22, Michelle Williams, ex-lover and mother of the actor's 2-year-old daughter released a statement revealing how "heart-broken" she is. The actress who met Ledger while filming "Brokeback Mountain" (2005), also spoke how their daughter Matilda is "a spitting image" of her father.

"Please respect our need to grieve privately," Williams said in a statement. "My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day."

Two years after Matilda was born in October 2005, Michelle and Ledger decided to split. They had since taken turns in spending time with Matilda.

Williams said that she along with Ledger's family; father Kim, mother Sally and sister Kate, are reminded of Ledger through Matilda. "His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still," Williams continued. "She will be brought up in the best memories of him."

Ledger who was only 28, was found dead and naked on his bed in his Manhattan apartment with prescription pills found near his body. Police first suspected accidental drug overdose as the cause of death, but according to New York's Medical Examiner's Office, a toxicology report is expected to be released next week, possibly Tuesday (January 5) or the day after.
