Penelope Cruz to Voice a Guinea Pig in Animated Film

The star of 'Volver' is going to join the voice cast of live-action/CG combination film 'G-Force' as Juarez, a guinea pig.

AceShowbiz - Multiple awards-nominated actress Penelope Cruz reportedly has agreed to fill in one of the lead voices in Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' combination live-action/CG film "G-Force". According to Variety, the star of "Volver" will voice Juarez, a guinea pig.

The co-star of Matthew McConaughey in "Sahara" is the new addition to the list of voice cast including Nicolas Cage voicing a mole, Steve Buscemi voicing a hamster and Tracy Morgan who also gives a voice to a guinea pig. Aside from the voice cast, the movie will also have human cast in the ensemble, including Bill Nighy and Will Arnett.

"G-Force" tells a story that centers on a group of ultra-intelligent animal commandoes who work for a government agency trying to prevent an evil billionaire from taking over the world. The animation adventure film scheduled for release on May 1 will be directed by first time director Hoyt Yeatman who is an Oscar-winning visual effect innovator.

Cruz's feature credits include "All the Pretty Horses" alongside Matt Damon, "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" opposite Cage, "Vanilla Sky" with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, and "Bandidas" co-starring Salma Hayek. Meanwhile, the latest film projects of the 33-year-old actress cover a drama film based on a Phillip Roth novel "Elegy" and Woody Allen directed-drama "Vicky Cristina Barcelona".
