A rep from Miley Cyrus confirmed that a body double was used in the concert to speed things up.
Following the reports that a fake Miley Cyrus appeared on-stage mid her concert, a representative for the 15-year-old star told OK! Magazine that it was indeed not Cyrus who appeared for approximately 2 minutes in the second half of her song.
A camera phone from the audience 'accidentally' caught Cyrus led by one of her dancers to the backstage and replaced by someone with the same costume while singing 'We Got the Party (With Us)' with Jonas Brothers. The rep cited the necessity of using a body-double in the concert to transform her from Hannah Montana back to Miley Cyrus within short time.
"To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of We Got the Party incorporating a body double for Miley," the rep said. "After Hannah has completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately one to two minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set."
The body double use consequently led to the question of lip-synch since her voice was played throughout the switch. An angry fan told OK!, "The whole time this was happening Miley's vocals were still playing. The new imposter had her back turned while she danced, trying to hide that fact that she was not Miley Cyrus. At this instant I became very suspicious. ... I paid good money to see the concert. I was disappointed and I felt like I was played for a fool."
To this extent the rep explained, "Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert."
