An associate producer of "Terminator Salvation', James Middleton, let out details about the new installment of the action movie, including the plot and new character.

AceShowbiz - More details of the latest installment of Terminator film series have been outed. To SCI FI Wire at the time he was promoting the upcoming FOX TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", James Middleton, an associate producer of "Terminator Salvation" has shared the information about the film.
In the interview at Los Angeles' Golden Apple comic shop, he said that the new trilogy is set following the end of Terminator 3 saying, "It's post-apocalyptic." He then explained, "It's set after the events of 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines', where we see the nuclear exchange at the end of the movie, and we show what the world is like after this event, and we show how people try to deal in a post-apocalyptic world."
Apart from revealing the plot, the producer also confessed that there will be a new character in the cyborg saga. He said, "And we introduce a new character, who becomes very important to the resistance and to John Connor, a new hero. It's really about the birth of a new hero." Further, he shared his insight about the character John Connor that is rumored to be played by Christian Bale stating, "I would look at him as a character that is introduced and that will grow in the second and third movies of the trilogy."
Additionally, on the occasion, Middleton also gave out confirmation that actor turned California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, won't definitely star or make a cameo in the film or any of the contemplated sequels. "He has been approached, and in the early days of our development of T4, one of our producers, Andy Vajna, who's a good friend of his, spoke to him about doing a cameo," he said, "This was even before he was governor. But we know now that he is governor, he's got priorities that are above doing movies."
