The WWII thriller originally was slated for a theatrical release on June 27, 2008.
More film titles have undergone changes in their release dates lately and Bryan Singer-directed "Valkyrie" is apparently the latest one to join the lineup.
United Artists as the studio developing the project turned out to have taken decision to push back the release date for the WWII thriller, which Tom Cruise is toplining. Originally scheduled to open on June 27, 2008, pic will come up on October 3, 2008 instead, facing other upcoming titles like Guy Ritchie's "RocknRolla" and Michael Cera-starrer "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" on the day.
Written by Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander, "Valkyrie" is based on the true story of the July 20 Plot hatched by some German army officers to assassinate Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Pic initially had Austria-born actor Tobias Moretti in talks to play the German Fuhrer, but as he had to decline due to schedule conflicts, the role eventually went to David Bamber instead.
