Shakira Scores a Golden Globe Nomination Through 'Despedida'

The 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards put Shakira in the same category with Eddie Vedder and Clint Eastwood.

AceShowbiz - Shakira nails a nomination at 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards for her composition for the score of Benjamin Bratt-starring drama flick 'Love in the Time of Cholera', sharing it with Brazilian composer Antonio Pinto.

Her song which is titled 'Despedida' is running for 'Best Original Song', the same category that also put Clint Eastwood's 'Grace is Gone' and Eddie Vedder's 'Guaranteed', soundtracks to 'Grace is Gone' and 'Into the Wild' respectively.

Meanwhile, Vedder and Eastwood meet once again under 'Best Original Score', for their compositions in the same movies. Vedder sharing this one with Michael Brook and Kaki King while Eastwood is a solo recipient.

Musical pics that earn nods this year include 'Sweeney Todd', 'Across the Universe', 'Hairspray', 'Juno' and 'Charlie Wilson's War'. The biggest nominee in the event would be British drama 'Atonement' that earns seven nods. Complete nominees can be viewed here.

The winners will be determined in a ceremony held January 13 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
