Josh Groban Remains Strong on Album Sale, in Tie With Elvis Presley
Music

With his third week sitting at #1 on Billboard Hot 200, Josh Groban is in the same position to legendary singer Elvis Presley to have a Christmas album on top of the others.

AceShowbiz - New releases this week are still unable to kick Josh Groban's 'Noel' down from his comfortable position at #1 on Billboard Hot 200 chart. The album moved 581,000 copies, an 8 per cent increase from last week, making it the longest Christmas record to stay in the position. Only Elvis Presley ever did this with his season album in 1957.

Coming in at #2 on the chart is Alicia Keys' 'As I Am' that climbs one place after moving 234,000 copies. Eagles' 'Long Road Out of Eden' replaces her album's position at #3 by shifting 204,000 copies, followed by Now 26 compilation (158,000) that remains tight in its fourth position.

Two Disney production albums entered the Top 10 at no. 5 and 6 respectively this week through Miley Cyrus' 'Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus' (132,000) and High School Musical 2 soundtrack (128,000). Carrie Underwood's 'Carnival Ride' inches up two places to #7 with a 20 per cent increase in sale at 107,000 copies.

Jumping three places down is Garth Brooks' 'The Ultimate Hits' that lands at #8 after only selling 105,000 copies. A chart climber, Taylor Swift's self-titled album, re-enters the top ten at #9 in its 59th week on the chart with a sale of 99,000 units. American Idol runner-up Blake Lewis' 'Audio Day Dream' (98,000) filled in #10, the same position winner Jordin Sparks claimed for her debut release's first week.
