Australian Singer Anthony Callea and Boyfriend Paul Riggio Have Split

Former Australian Idol finalist Anthony Callea has confirmed he's split from boyfriend Paul Riggio.

Anthony Callea is single and available. The ARIA Award winning Australian singer has revealed that he is no longer with long-term boyfriend Paul Riggio.

"I am officially single as of a week and a half ago," Anthony said in his Website. "You know ... s--t happens. It's onwards and upwards for me from here. I am content. I have been in a long-term relationship with my partner, Paul, who has been by my side for the past two and a half years. Together we have the love and support of our family, friends and peers. I wouldn't have been able to do this without his support."

After speculation and tabloid rumors on his sexual preference, Anthony publicly acknowledged in March that he was gay, issued a statement saying "Yes, I am gay. I have no issue with my sexuality now, but it's taken time to become confident with who I am and happy with who I am. I'm comfortable enough to come clean now. It's a weight off my shoulders."

Anthony and Paul met during production of the 2004 series of Australian Idol, where Anthony was runner-up and Paul was working as a talent coordinator.

Enjoying his being single, Anthony has been seen around Melbourne town with "National Bingo Night" host Tim Campbell, who he worked with in Perth for the musical "Rent." The twosome was seen hanging out at the Botanical bar in South Yarra on Saturday night, December 8.

Anthony's manager however insisted that Anthony and Tim are just friends, claiming "To suggest Anthony and Tim are anything more than colleagues is totally untrue."
