Semi-Pro Holds College Comedy Tour


To mark the release of 'Semi-Pro' on February 29, 2008, Will Ferrell's Funny or Die Comedy Tour will be held nationwide on seven-college arena.

A nationwide comedy tour will be held as a part of "Semi-Pro" movie promotion. The tour, which is sponsored by FunnyorDie.com, will feature the rising stand-up comics, Zach Galifianakis, Demetri Martin, and Nick Swardson, alongside Will Ferrell, the star of the comedy movie.

The seven-college arena tour will be started on February 4, 2008 in Manhattan and closed on February 22, 2008 in North Carolina. Regarding the tour, Ferrell revealed that he believes that it will change lives. He stated, "Not only will this tour make people laugh, but it's going to change lives...I think."

Furthermore, according to press release, Funnyor Die.com will also uncover a new video highlighting Ferrell and his "Semi-Pro" co-star, Andrew Daly, every week until the release of the movie. The site is also going to hold a contest for promising comics to send their videos to be displayed on the big screen on the tour as well as on the Semi-Pro section of the site.

New Line Cinema's "Semi-Pro", which will be released on February 29, 2008, is a movie about the effort of Jackie Moon, a one hit wonder singer, and his basketball team, the Flint Michigan Tropics, to get out from the danger of being shut down. The movie which is set in the '70s with the background of a fast-paced, wild and crazy basketball league, is directed by Kent Alterman and produced by Jimmy Miller.
