Queen + Paul Rodgers Recorded Free Single for Mandela's 46664

To aid Nelson Mandela's AIDS awareness campaign, 46664, Queen and vocalist Paul Rodgers will give away their single for free.

Paul Rogers-fronted Queen have assisted Nelson Mandela's 46664 campaign by contributing their single in line with World AIDS day that occurs on December 1. The song which is called 'Say It's Not True', will be available for free download on the band's official website.

Drummer Roger Taylor originally wrote the piece in 2003 and performed it live for the first time at the 46664 concert in Cape Town, South Africa. According to their site, the song carries the message that "HIV AIDS is something that can affect any one of us no matter our sexual or racial status."

On the free download Taylor said, "By making the song available for free, we hope to help Nelson Mandela with his campaign to get across the message that no-one is safe from infection. We have to be aware, we have to protect ourselves and those we love. The song follows the line of Mr. Mandela's personal message: it's in our own hands to bring a stop to this."

The annual 46664 concert will be held at Johannesburg's Ellis Park on Saturday, December 1 with performances by Corinne Bailey Rae, Peter Gabriel, Annie Lennox, Ludacris, Goo Goo Dolls, Jamelia and Angelique Kidjo. A video of 'Say It's Not True' will be premiered during this event as reported by Reuters.com.
