Exclusive Interview: EndeverafteR, Upcoming Rock Act With Style
Music

EndeverafteR reveal how Led Zeppelin become their inspiration and the fact that they will support other great rock acts next year.

AceShowbiz - When it comes to rock there's a longing for the eras where the stage act is simply an addiction. Coming from Sacramento, California is the revival of those ripped open shirts and sensational guitar picks that comes in the name EndeverafteR.

Exclusively telling AceShowbiz is the band who refuse to be called a throwback although their influences may come from rock legends such as Aerosmith, Guns N Roses and Led Zeppelin. Read our interview with the band below.

ASB: What is the band's history? Was there a struggle to claim fame involved?

EndeverafteR: EndeverafteR started out in Sacramento, California. We wanted to play the type of rock music that influenced us as we were growing up and developing as musicians. The novel idea of playing the music that we wanted to play and would want to hear instead of following the trends of the moment actually resulted in almost immediate interest from crowds locally, and we were fortunate enough to sign a deal very quickly. Making a great record was exciting but it took a lot of time and patience. Now that the record is out and we're touring there is the task of proving ourselves night after night to skeptical audiences. This is what we all love to do, but it takes a certain grit and patience. We're lucky to have the opportunity to go through this struggle.

ASB: When you decided to name the band EndeverafteR what crossed your mind? Who gave the idea to such an interesting name?

EndeverafteR: The name Endeverafter actually came from singer/lead guitarist Michael Grant. Grant was previously fronting a band called Endever, so as his musical projects evolved, he adapted the name.

ASB: How would you make yourself a distinct rock act among all of these budding acts in the music industry?

EndeverafteR: The musical style and obvious reflection of our influences in both sound and appearance set Endeverafter apart. We learn from every band we hear and see, but don't make any effort to match up with anyone in particular and that is what makes us distinct.

ASB:If you're to name some influence or role models in shaping your music, who would they be?

EndeverafteR: The most important musical influences that shaped Endeverafter's sound were all of the epic rock acts that have created and influenced the entire rock genre. Groups like Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, and Aerosmith are some of the key figures of influence for all of us.

ASB: Can we detect a hint of 'classic rock' in your music?

EndeverafteR: While we don't believe Endeverafter is a throwback band that solely costumes themselves to be retro, we do feel that our classic rock influences are very forward and apparent in our music and look. We still feel we have a very current and relevant edge to our sound.

ASB: You guys certainly revive the time when rock acts rip open their shirts and had their long hair all over the face. Was any of this deliberate?

EndeverafteR: How we look and dress onstage is pretty much how we look and dress offstage, so our image is just a reflection of our influences and sense of style.

ASB: Your video for single 'Baby Baby Baby' received more than 500,000 views in day one. What was your first reaction?

EndeverafteR: When we first heard that our "Baby Baby Baby" video had received so many views we felt incredibly validated. We knew that there were so many people that were interested in the same visual aesthetic and sound as us, and it seemed there was proof. Plus we figured that the girls in the video didn't hurt!

ASB: Now that your fan base is growing larger, how have they been treating you? Especially the female ones.

EndeverafteR: Now that Kiss Or Kill has been released, we've been added to radio stations, and we've been able to begin a great touring schedule. With every day it feels like there is a huge momentum building. The people that have really championed us at this very early stage honestly have treated us like a long awaited oasis. It feels like people that are our fans have been waiting for a band like us to come along, because they're into the same music and bands that we are. And the girls like us.

ASB: How does it feel opening tours for great rock acts such as KISS, Poison and Cinderella?

EndeverafteR: Getting to play rock concerts with bands that are living legends are some of the most fulfilling events of our lives. We all remember the KISS albums we first heard in our dads' record collection, buying our first Poison tape, blasting Cinderella when we first got our driver's license. These bands have worked so hard, demonstrated true longevity, and have been such a huge influence for not just us but the whole world of rock music. Getting to share a stage with them and be involved with all of the promoters and crews that are at that upper level of success is an incredible honor.

ASB: Of all the artists you have met along the tour, who gain your personal respect?

EndeverafteR: We have been privileged enough to tour with bands that have had incredible careers with tremendous staying power. Each of those bands has been very gracious to us and helped to teach us about all the various ends of business and performance and lessons on survival in general for touring. We don't have any horror stories from the road concerning other artists.

ASB: Please share some backstage secret. What would the band do minutes before serving a live concert?

EndeverafteR: Part of having backstage secrets is keeping them secret! I can tell you that right before we hit the stage we all assemble as a group and try to get in the right frame of mind for the show. The show is very serious business for us. After the show is very serious business as well, but in a completely different sense.

ASB: Tell us a bit of 'Kiss and Kill', your new album which was released in October this year.

EndeverafteR: 'Kiss Or Kill' is a record that we are all very proud of. Making the record took a lot of effort and patience, but we feel our finished album was well worth the waiting and hardship. From the brutal rockers to the ballads that get you every time, its exactly the record we would want to hear.

ASB: After the tour to support the album is done what do you guys will do next?

EndeverafteR: After our current tour opening for Fuel and Trapt, we hope to have a busy 2008. So many things are in the works, but something that is confirmed for us is a slot on the Motley Crue in late January. You can also expect to see Endeverafter touring again early next year, and I don't think it will stop for some time.
