Oh yes she is. The pregnancy speculation is true, Cate Blanchett is pregnant, much to her joy.
The movie beauty has, during a red carpet appearance in Sydney for the premiere of her new movie, "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," officially confirmed that she and playwright husband Andrew Upton are expecting their third child together.
Being asked by reporters if she's expecting, Blanchett said "Yes, I am." And when it comes to question on the sex of the baby, she simply shook her head, telling reporters "You know more than me. It's early days yet. It's due in April."
The bun in the oven is Blanchett and Upton's third child together. The couple who's been married since 1997 has had two boys together, they are Dashiell John and Roman Robert. And should the unborn baby is a girl, Blanchett and Upton might need to redecorate the nursery anyway.
Speculation on Blanchett's pregnancy first came to public's attention when she was spotted sporting a baby bump while out in NYC late last month. The movie beauty was first seen with a bumping belly while she left her midtown Manhattan hotel to perform in the play "Right You Are (If You Think You Are)" held at the grand rotunda of the Guggenheim Museum in New York City on October 27th.
Then again, Blanchett was spotted with a growing belly during an appearance on UK chat show "Friday Night with Jonathan Ross."
Meanwhile, pop star Christina Aguilera finally publicly admitted in an interview with Glamour magazine that she and her 30-year-old music exec husband Jordan Bratman are expecting their first child together. It takes time indeed to hear pregnancy confirmation from fellow singer Jennifer Lopez.
