The green slime is overtaking U.K. for the first time at Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards this year. Avril Lavigne has been given the honor to receive the title as first big winner in music category after kids or those with youth taste clicked on her name in the vote tally.

Lavigne brought home two awards, Best Female Singer and Best Video for 'Girlfriend', beating Gwen Stefani, Hilary Duff and Cheryl Cole from Girls Aloud.

The show's host McFly also didn't come home empty-handed. The all boys group took down Fall Out Boy, Girls Aloud and Sugababes to snatch Best Band award.

Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards was held on Saturday, October 20 in London. Log on to Nick.co.uk for complete winners.
