Music

Known for her amazing renditions of popular songs, Cat Power is back with 'Covers 2'.

AceShowbiz - Cat Power will on January 22 release a new album titled 'Covers 2'. The new album will be the follow up to 2000's 'The Covers Record' that compiles her rendition of popular songs by renown musicians such as Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and Mick Jagger.

The tracklisting of the second cover album is yet to be determined, but it's known that her long time-collaborator Dirty Delta Blues Band will back her up in some of the tracks.

The shortlist has appeared on Rollingstones.com in August, pointing to Joni Mitchell's 'Blue,' The Highwaymen's 'Silver Stallion,' Hot Boys' 'I Feel,' Creedence Clearwater Revival's 'Fortunate Son,' Jessie Mae Hemphill's 'Lord Help the Poor and Needy,' Otis Redding's 'I've Been Loving You,' and a duet with Shane MacGowan on the Irish traditional 'The Auld Triangle.'

She has covered Dylan's 'Stuck Inside of Mobile With Memphis Blues Again' that will appear as soundtrack to Dylan's biopic 'I'm Not There'. The compilation will arrive October 30 via Columbia featuring other artists such as The Hold Steady, Sonic Youth and Sufjan Stevens.

Cat Power will tour with Dirty Delta Blues Band starting from October 14 in Norfolk, V.A.
