AceShowbiz - Sara Evans and her estranged husband Craig Schelske enjoying singlehood in the eyes of the law as they have their divorce finalized Friday September 28th.

The country singer was granted a divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences, thus putting an end to eight months of nasty divorce allegations.

"The parties have agreed that it is in their best interests and those of their children to amicably resolve all issues in their pending divorce. Each wishes the other well in all future endeavors," say the court papers filed on Friday in Williamson County, Tenn, adding that "Both parties are fully committed to raising their children in a cooperative and positive way."

The divorce settlement awarded Evans primary custody of their kids with visitation rights for Craig. Evans has the right to keep the family's home in Tennessee, while Craig is granted the couple's two homes in Oregon. The singer, in addition, also agreed to pay Craig alimony of at least $600,000, which can be broken into 10 annual payments of $60,000.

Evans married Craig, an aspiring politician, in 1993 and filed for divorce in October 2006, alleged that Craig committed adultery, was verbally and emotionally abusive, drank excessively and frequently watched pornography in their home. The couple have three children together, son Avery Jack Lyons and daughters Olivia Margaret and Audrey Elizabeth.
