Blade: Trinity Maker David S. Goyer Taking Another Vampire Flick
The man has signed on to helm "Baltimore, or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire" based on the recently-published illustrated novel by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden.

Apparently vampire has become such an interesting creature to explore for David S. Goyer. Directing "Blade: Trinity" in 2004, the man now is back for another pic of the blood-thirsty creatures in "Baltimore, or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire."

Produced under New Regency banner, pic is a big screen adaptation of Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden's illustrated novel which was just published by Bantam. Story is about the awakening of supreme evil on Earth and concerns a man named Lord Henry Baltimore who gets bitten by a demonic vampire bat on a WWI battlefield. When the plague destroys his family, Baltimore creates a team to hunt and fight the Red King, the embodiment of all evil.

Assigned to pen the screenplay are the book's authors themselves with John Baldecchi and Stacy Maes both producing. Mignola, previously a conceptual artist on "Dracula" and "Blade II", has been known to be the creator of comic book character and series "Hellboy" while Golden has written some novels that included "The Myth Hunters" and "Wildwood Road."

Goyer, a 1988 graduate of USC School of Cinema-Television, just worked with Regency plus Maes in the upcoming "Jumper" and is currently attached as the director of "X-Men" spin-off "Magneto." Known to be "Batman Begins" scribe as well, he is also a popular writer of comic books, notably "Justice Society of America" (JSA) which he writes alongside Geoffrey Johns.
