Amy Winehouse has four nominations, followed by Kanye West at three and also Rihanna at two counts.
Low on personal life, Amy Winehouse has her career still going uphill proven by numbers of nominations she earns in this year's MOBO Awards. The singer, who is currently in rehab, is up for 4 categories- Best Video for 'Back to Black', Best Song for 'Rehab', Best R&B and Best U.K. Female.
Amy's number is then followed by Kanye West who got 3 nods for Best International Act, Best Video for 'Stronger' and Best Hip-Hop. In the latter nomination he will go head to head with rival 50 Cent who has been linked to him as heavy competitor.
Surprisingly, Rihanna who had her single 'Umbrella' on the first spot of U.K Singles chart for 10 weeks is not included in the nomination of Best Song. She will have to be satisfied running for Best Video for 'Umbrella' and Best International Act only. "I put a lot in the song and the video. The video meant a lot to me, being nominated for best video is definitely an honor," Rihanna said.
This year's host will be the award's previous winner Jamelia and Jamaican singer Shaggy who will release a new LP 'Intoxication' on Oct. 16. Jamelia admitted of being nervous becoming the host of the event that will take place at London's O2 Arena.
"I'm unbelievably excited about hosting," she said. "I've hardly done any presenting before, so to be asked to do such a huge thing, yes, slightly nervous."
The 12th annual Mobo Awards will be broadcast on BBC Three on 19 September.
