AceShowbiz - Being a big, longtime fan of Batman comics, a U.S. Senator has landed a cameo role in the highly-anticipated "The Dark Knight."

Current chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Sen. Patrick Leahy has revealed that he will show up as what he calls the "distinguished gentleman" in this second installment of the revitalized superhero franchise. His scene was filmed this summer and reportedly involves the Caped Crusader, The Joker, and Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth.

"It's a pretty tense scene," the Vermont Democrat commented. "It's going to be a very interesting one."

The stint is not the first time Senator Leahy carries out for the franchise as he previously had a cameo role in "Batman and Robin" and did voice-overs in an episode of "Batman: The Animated Series." As for the earnings he gets from the project, the man was noticed to state that they will be donated to the Kellogg-Hubbard children's library in Montpelier where he obtained his first library card.
