Another rapper is struck by a criticism over obscene lyrics. This time Nas who positively wants to help healing the pain after the Virginia Tech incident is ironically remembered for his 1999 track 'Shoot 'Em Up' that automatically relates him to gun violence promotion.

As previously reported, a free concert is to be held at the University's Lane Stadium on September 6 with other line-ups being John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band and country singer Phil Vassar. However, seven families of the gun-shooting victims are upset that Nas is included on the bill and demand the rapper to be dropped from the line.

Nas' lyrics "are indicative of the moral decay in our society that contributes to acts of violence," Vincent J. Bove, a rep for the families told Washington Post. "For a university official to condone it or to be clueless of what this person's track record is, it's unconscionable beyond belief."

Despite the opposition, University officials have no intention to exclude Nas from the list of performers, saying that response to his inclusion has been positive in general.
