Adler Still Hopeful for Full Guns N' Roses Reunion

Successfully gathering four out of five Guns N' Roses members, drummer Steven Adler is still waiting for Axl Rose to make a 'decision'.

Steve Adler made it true when he said he will be reuniting with his bandmates for a one-off gig. Apt to its plan, the July 28 night at Hollywood's Key Club turned spectacular after guitarist Izzy Stradlin and bassist Duff McKagan joined Adler on stage.

Although the gig was under Adler's side band 'Adler's Appetite', it became semi-reunion for Guns N' Roses when Slash appeared for the jam session. Unfortunately, the four ex-bandmates minus vocalist didn't take the stage long enough for a full show because something "reportedly came up" and Slash had to leave.

Beyond that night, Adler has been secretly hoping that a full reunion will occur. "I believe I made it this far for some reason," Adler told Billboard.com. "I want to finish what we started, and ... with the love and support I got from those guys, I think we can (reunite). I'm gonna leave it up to Axl. That's gonna be Axl's call, and I love Axl and I know he'll make the right call."

Adler will continue performing live shows with Appetite in Argentina, Peru, Chile and Las Vegas. There will also be a string of dates in South America and Europe. "We're gonna be busy working until pretty much Christmas, which I'm excited about," Adler added.

Pictures from the Key Club gig can be viewed on Adler's MySpace.

Yeah, I was hoping they'll reunit after the Chinese Democracy release... but not. Well... I still hope they will. It'd be... more than awesome. Just great! :)

I have this hunch. Axl is just waiting to complete this one off stew pot album to get all the Use Your Illusion and other musical stuff out of his system before asking to reunite. All of it sounds like the music Slash and the Gang were always reluctant to do compared to Appetite stuff. Every other band member in the new GNR already has obligations to other bands/stuff and obviously are only doing this for fun and not commitment to the band itself. Axl even expressed desire to do another Appetite album in a radio interview in 1999. When asked why he won't do it he was completely honest and simply said, "Slash." The hate has settled between everyone and now they're starting to say nice things to each other in public. I think once Chinese Democracy in its entirety is released. Axl will make things right. As much of a dick and self righteous guy he is, he's not stupid. He KNOWS that if they reunited it'd be as big of a deal as the Zeppelin reunion. If not bigger. Money alone would be worth doing it. Come on guys, at least do one gig together. Hell do it as a charity thing where all the proceeds go to charity. They'd cure aids with that amount of money generated. Hell they could be doing the gig in Antarctica and I'd put on my parka and fly down to attend!

If you told Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Steven that Axl was willing to get GN'R back together, and would show up on time for stuff and write a rock n' roll album, they would come running. But that's the problem. Axl has near total control over the situation...as he does with Guns N' Roses as it is now (which is WHY it is as it is now...). The only way GN'R get back together is if it becomes a BAND again...a democracy, not Axl making all the calls. Democracy is what got them famous. Chinese Democracy is what tore them apart.
