It appears that Touchstone Pictures' "The Proposal" is close in getting its leading man by now. The Hollywood Reporter has delightfully come up with news informing "Smokin' Aces" star Ryan Reynolds is currently engaged in talks to secure the role in the project, which Sandra Bullock is set to topline.
If everything goes smooth, Reynolds will then play Bullock's young male assistant who agrees to make a sham engagement and marriage with her when she suddenly faces deportation to Canada.
No words yet on name to direct and production schedule, but it has been confirmed that Mandeville's David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will both serve as the producers with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci executive producing via their Kurtzman/Orci Productions. Penning the script was Peter Chiarelli, the president of Kurtzman/Orci, who marks his screen-writing debut here.
