Giving an update on the casting of "Death Race", director Paul W.S. Anderson has openly revealed to IGN Movies at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that Tyrese Gibson and Joan Allen have both joined Jason Statham as the cast members of the flick.
"Jason Statham's playing Frankenstein and Machine Gun Joe's played by Tyrese Gibson. And Joan Allen is the big villain baddie of the movie, which I'm very excited about," the British filmmaker informed. "She's gonna kick Statham's ass!"
A remake of the 1975 cult classic "Death Race 2000", the futuristic action thriller depicts a no-holds-barred, ultra-violent car race set in the year 2020. Anderson, who is going to direct from his own script, was also quoted to state filming will be carried out in "four weeks time in Montreal."
