Wyclef Jean Giving First Song Off 7th Album

Wyclef Jean

Wyclef Jean's new song "Sweetest Girl" featuring Akon, Lil Wayne and Nia has found its way to the net.

With T.I. on board of his production team, Wyclef Jean is confident enough to leak the first song off his seventh solo album. The ex-member of The Fugees is putting "Sweetest Girl" up front his native-themed CD tentatively titled "Carnival 2: Memoirs of an Immigrant".

Chosen as the first single, "Sweetest Girl" spans the collaboration from Akon, Lil Wayne and Nia. True to his words, Wyclef has this one done in mid-tempo and close to his native Compa vibe.

The seventh album is slated to be released in September with no specific date yet. There will be a collaboration from The Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger whom Wyclef described "happened to be there (studio)". He said, "Like, ain't nothing rehearsed because we went in on a vibe." It was previously reported that Nicole's featured-song would be the first single pulled from the album.
