Johnny Knoxville issued a divorce paper to his wife whom he had married for twelve years.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Knoxville brought his marriage of twelve years to court. The Jackass star is filing for a divorce from wife Melanie Lynn Clapp.
According to Los Angeles Superior Court filing, the actor whose real name is Philip John Clapp, cited irreconcilable differences on the paper. There is no prenup and Knoxville is seeking a joint custody of 11-year-old daughter Madison. He will also fulfill the spousal support which is unspecified.
The divorce petition was originally signed this January but the case isn't brought to the surface until this month. The papers also stated that the separation date is noted back on July 17, 2006.
The couple's household rift is related to the rumor that Knoxville had a brief fling with Jessica Simpson after the two met on the set of �The Dukes of Hazzard�. Knoxville said in August 2005, "Usually you just laugh and go on. (But) if it's something like they've done to Jessica and I, it's not as funny because I have a wife and kid. Luckily, my wife is understanding. It's show business."
