It's Brazil's turn to know its Live Earth lineup. On the headlining bill are Pharrell Williams, Lenny Kravitz and Macy Gray.
The three acts will be joined by lesser-known outfits such as Xuxa, O Rappa, Marcelo D2, Jorge Ben Jor, Jota Quest, Vanessa Da Matta and Mv Bill. These musicians are expected to please a huge crowd that gathered in capital city Rio de Janeiro, as this leg is the only one with free admission.
The concert that is held in the famous Copacabana Beach will be broadcast on TV Globo, Brazil's largest television network and Live Earth's official network for Brazil.
The 24-hour Live Earth concert series will begin July 7 in Sydney, Australia and continue across all 7 continents with events in Tokyo, Japan; Shanghai, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; Hamburg, Germany; London, United Kingdom; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before concluding at New Jersey's Giants Stadium in the United States.
Istanbul's leg has been cut due to lack of interest and concern upon the security. Meanwhile, the latest acts to be added in New York's Live Earth bill are Keith Urban and Taking Back Sunday.
