Chicago Church Attacks 10 Rappers' Lyrics

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Ludacris are among some who are attacked by a Chicago church community for their bad lyrics.

Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, 50 Cent and his G-Unit members are included in the list of rappers with 'inappropriate' language. A Chicago based church set up 10 billboards across the city saying that the rappers' lyrics "demean women and perpetuate violence."

"If we are going to end the violence and the disrespect of women, we must fight every form of negativity, including the music industry," Rev. Michael Pfleger said in reference to the campaign.

The campaign is conducted by Faith Community of Saint Sabrina that urges people to stop listening to "trash". The community and Rev. Pfleger have continuously been fighting for several negative issues such as racism, alcohol and tobacco.

Other rappers within the attack are Nelly, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne and Chicago native Twista.

Earlier this year Snoop Dogg has taken defense on rap lyrics and warned his fellow rappers to "stay low". He said, "We're musicians. I should be able to work with whoever I wanna work with and not offend anybody. This is a music industry where we should take advantage of our position. Our power is to create music that reflects what you feel is right."
